Michael Aloi Bio

Michael started playing music at the age of 5 when his mother with very little money in the bank (after the sudden death of his father) bought him an accordion and music lessons...…  which he describes as “The greatest gift my mom ever gave me”

He has had a long and distinguished career in the music business as a solo artist as well as with his band Rainbow and has performed at many major events, concerts and clubs for clients like People Magazine, IBM, PepsiCo and General Foods. and concerts with some of the top performers of the day including Don McClean and Rockapella .

While in college he wrote his college graduation theme song, “Tomorrow” and performed it with Larry Chance and the Earls at the Graduation.

After college he went on to write and record more songs at the Famed Bleeker Street Studios in Greenwich Village and North Lake Studios in White Plains owned by Peter Frampton and Chip Taylor

When his children, Lisa and Michelle, were born Michael started writing children’s music and had his kids performing in his shows where he appeared with many top children’s artists including, Raffi.

He released 2 albums and a DVD for kids at that time and wrote a song for the Make - a - Wish Society entitled “If you make Wish” and had characters developed in conjunction with artists from Nickelodeon for his full production stage show.

Deep interest in performing music for children with special needs inspired him to recently form a non-profit called Songs for Smiles (www.songsforsmiles.org) to try to get musicians across the United States to perform concerts for children in hospitals and special needs facilities.

Over the past few years his songwriting turned to ‘Country’ after a (Grammy Album of the Year winner) took a liking to one of his songs “My Dad’s and Angel”. ..which got him on a writing spree (writing over 20 of his 50 songs over the past 2 years)… which led to a well-received performance in Nashville at The Blue Bird Cafe.

His latest release, “Stop and Smell the Roses”, was written, as most are, from his inner observations of the world around him. The song, sung by his daughter Michelle, was select as Song and Artist of the week by a NY Radio Station.  He wrote it to hopefully convey a message, to all that hear it,.. That life is too short and we should all take the time to enjoy it before it’s gone.

To Quote Michael:

We  gotta stop and smell the roses, before we run out of time

We gotta close our eyes and dream..  That everything's gonna be all right

We gotta have faith, we gotta have love…

and sometimes a little help from above

We gotta stop and smell the roses, one more time…….
